The Ignition Gateway supports dual-Ethernet servers, and will launch clients on both a corporate network and an isolated control network.
When unreliable connections break communication within a distributed controls system, it is critical to still have local control over PLCs. Installing Vision Panel Edition in individual areas ensures local control within those areas, even if the area is not accessible to the network.
Independent Ignition Gateways provide local control and SCADA functionality. Corporate wide area network (WAN) plus client retargeting provides secure and seamless access across multiple facilities.
Connections between a database and remote PLCs are usually unreliable. The Ignition SQL Bridge Module installed on embedded data logging computers uses store-and-forward to ensure that data is never lost.
Join two or more Ignition Gateways together with the Clustering feature for a fault tolerant and scalable SCADA system. Clients seamlessly fail-over when the Gateway they are communicating with is lost, and automatically distribute their load across all available Gateways.
Ignition can operate as an OPC server with just the OPC-UA module installed. OPC-UA clients can then access the PLC data.
