FactorySQL 2.1 Released
01/23/2006 - Inductive Automation is proud to announce the latest release of its highly popular industrial data manipulation tool, FactorySQL. Version 2.1 provides a number of significant bug fixes and performance enhancements, as well as several exciting new features, such as the introduction of Action Items. Action items merge and replace the functionality of SQL and Macro items, and go further with a new and enhanced scripting language that makes it easier than ever to accomplish complicated data manipulation tasks. Action items support all of the standard functionality you would expect: sql or script based execution, triggering, alerting, and item referencing. In addition, they support a drop-and-run plug-in system for function libraries created with the new FactorySQL Scripting API, so now it's easy to write your own functions and extend FactorySQL like never before.

Due to the number of backend fixes in version 2.1, it has been rated a Recommended update for existing users. This means that most users should consider updating. Of course, users who have well running systems and do not plan on expanding them soon may wish to wait until they have a more pronounced need to upgrade.

As always, upgrades along the major version chain are free for all users. You may download upgrades easily from the Downloads Section.
