Does factoryPMI have support for communicating over RS232?
If not would importing the javax.comm be a possibility?
No, not natively. You’re right - you’d need the Java Comm extension (java.sun.com/products/javacomm/). I have absolutely no experience with this extension, so my ability to help will be limited.
Not to mention… when you’re talking about serial from PMI, you’d be doing it from the client’s perspective. You guys are probably aware of this… but I wanted to mention that anything with rs232 communication would probably be better to do in FactorySQL, and we have a simple plugin that might work for you, which you may not have known about.
