Connection time Out error on email configuration for Alerts

A “connection timeout” error would indicate that the server isn’t available- at least at the IP & Port that you’ve entered. This could also be caused by a firewall blocking the communication.

Verify that the mail server is indeed running at that address, and that that address is visible to your machine (ping from the command line). Also, verify that port 180 is correct for plain SMTP.
